I'm Kudakwashe Mupeni, a software developer from Zimbabwe. I've been building since 2015 — mostly backend systems and developer tools, lately with a lean toward Rust and edge infrastructure.
This blog is where I write about things I'm actually building and the problems I run into along the way. Occasionally something from outside work too.

I build things when I can't stop thinking about the problem.
Easy HMS started because my brother runs a clinic. I watched him deal with software that assumed a stable internet connection — in an environment where that's rarely guaranteed. The problem was concrete, the person was real. That's usually when I do my best work.
Feather Flag came from a different kind of itch. Feature flags at the edge have been sitting in the back of my mind for a while — the architecture is genuinely interesting, and most existing solutions feel bolted on rather than designed from first principles. So I'm building the backend-first version I'd actually want to use.
The common thread is resonance. I'm not interested in building things that already exist. I'm interested in problems that are either personal enough to care about deeply, or technically interesting enough that the process of solving them teaches me something.
